Illinois Lemon Law Protecting Consumers from Defects Big and Small
Many people don’t fully know their rights when it comes to manufacturer defects. As a consumer, if you purchase a vehicle and have manufacturer defects, it’s important you know all the proper steps to take so that you don’t get stuck with a purchase that doesn’t run. Lemon Law does not include wear and tear of items. Illinois Lemon Law states that consumer-to-consumer transactions do not benefit from the law either. The transaction must be from a manufacturer to consumer.
If you’re worried your purchase isn’t covered by Illinois Lemon Law, contact us. At least 50 states cover new purchases with a limited amount of states covering used purchases. If you’re ready to learn more, call H.C. Bradley LLC and we’ll be happy to answer all your questions.
Illinois Lemon Law Vs. Warranties
A warranty is an assurance by the seller or maker that the product you purchased will function properly for an extended amount of time. If it doesn’t, the seller or maker will do what they can to fix the issue. Some warranties are limited and most don’t always cover the full product. Illinois Lemon Law holds sellers and makers accountable for selling a defective product. If you purchase a vehicle that stops running and after attempts to correct the problem without avail, then Lemon Law will ensure you’re compensated either financially or with a complete replacement.
